Director Biography
Isabella Mangano is a filmmaker dedicated to exploring female-led narratives that resonate deeply within the journey of finding one’s voice in a world that often dismisses it. Throughout her time in film school, Isabella has focused on crafting stories that reflect the struggles and triumphs of women discovering their identities and asserting their perspectives. Her characters grapple with their paths leading to self-expression, mirroring Isabella’s journey as she seeks to amplify those voices in her work.
In her graduate film, Isabella discovered a deep affinity for romanticism. She finds beauty in her emotions and her characters’ journeys, often romanticising their experiences. She envisions using exaggerated production design and evocative music to enhance poignant moments, creating a rich, immersive atmosphere that resonates with audiences.
