In the Trees
This is the story of Sasha the Great and Rory the Brave. Leaders of opposing forest-fort gangs of kids, the pair’s relations have so far been limited to a world of blood, bones, fish guts and wooden swords. But, now that their mums are friends, that’s about to change.
Forced to hang out, Sasha and Rory soon share vulnerabilities and reveal secrets, bonding over their mutual passion for medieval warfare. Things gets tricky, however, once they return to their respective gangs and have to betray their newfound alliance.
Back on the battlefield, Sasha and Rory learn that being friends doesn’t mean having to sacrifice their favourite interest: war.

Director Biography
Andy LayClark is an emerging Queer and Neurodivergent Director/Producer based in Melbourne. Andy’s filmography includes numerous directing credits. Their first short Death of a Clark screened at several established festivals including the Melbourne Woman in Film Festival, making them the youngest filmmaker to be a part of the festival at the time.
Andy has made films ever since under numerous genres but as a neurodiverse artist, Andy exploits the filmmaking form when others have failed them. They focus on the auditory and sensory, creating evacuated pieces that hopefully linger past the final frame.
