The Flower Man

8m Short, Deaf and disabled 2024

Otto nourishes his flowers and himself. They share breakfast, music and time. His world expands when he is with them. Just before he leaves for competition day, Otto applies his secret shine - a dollop of mayonnaise - to his hero orchid. The front door closes and Otto leaves his inner sanctuary for the busy orchid competition where he has triumphed before. He returns home a winner, propping his white cane against the wall and settling down for the night. For Otto may be blind but for him, life is blooming with possibilities. Believing is greater than seeing.
