We Eatin' Good

47m LGBTQI+, Documentary 2022

Created in the kitchen, We Eatin’ Good is a love letter to food, culture, queerness and creativity. Crafting this immersive and intimate series of portraits, producers Matisse Laida and Nisha Hunter take us into the homes of Melbourne’s queer community who share their recipes for food and life. Speaking directly to their lived experiences, from their studios to their gardens, Hasib Hourani, Rio Withall, Erika Beiza, and Tarneen Onus Williams connect cooking, family and culture to their creative practice and identity, serving up heartfelt and joyful food-for-thought.

Content Warning: The film involves personal and sensitive topics which touch on trauma experienced by queer, trans, intersex, Black and people of colour including eating disorders, colonisation and displacement.
