You Are Not Asleep

5m Animation, Drama 2024

Julia wakes on a train and follows her mysterious clone outside the door to a snowy forest. The clone turns into a solar-powered phone pole, beckoning her to answer. Her friends join her and fight over who should pick up the phone. Begrudgingly, Julia decides to be the lucky one. She hears multiple voices, thoughts and feelings on the other side. Before she can fully grasp it, she is transported to a new location - a grassy field.

Disoriented, she tries to brush off the experience of the voices by telling her friends she doesn’t remember the call. Her friends don’t seem too bothered, so they move on quickly. Her clone appears before her again as a dead body. She has a crisis, panicking and finding herself on a beach. She proceeds to argue with one of her friends, causing her to have a full-blown breakdown, where she must face her reflection. Reality breaks down, if the dream is reality at all.
