Taking place at ACMI on 5th April 2023, the Being Seen on Screen: The Importance of Representation conference was a call to action for gender equality and diversity on our screens. Featuring actors, activists, writers, directors, academics and creators, the event pulled the curtain back on some of the most pressing issues facing our culture and screen industries including body image, ageing and diversity with a special focus on Australian created content.

Hear from special guest, advocate and two-time Academy Award winning actor Geena Davis in an exclusive keynote speech and in conversation. Beyond her influence on screen, Davis is also a leader in challenging gender balance and Hollywood power structures. The global non-profit Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media uses hard facts and data on under-representation to drive positive change across the screen industry.
