A River Ago
When they were kids, Hazel and his best friend Pearl spent their days searching for fish in the local river and going to school together. In the years that followed, they lost touch; yet, as Hazel’s memories of that time are interspersed with moments of his present life, remnants of their friendship remain.
One day, Hazel receives news that cements his inability to ever return to that time or to his childhood best friend, forcing him to confront a loss without the closure of a final goodbye.
