Boys Club

12m Drama 2025

Pearl has always lived in Tom’s shadow, caught in the cycle of his love and control. Their relationship thrives on appearance – but beneath the surface, it’s suffocating.

When Tom’s best friend Nathan re-enters the picture, bringing with him an unfinished history with Pearl, the fragile balance begins to crack. As loyalties shift and truths threaten to surface, Pearl finds herself trapped between two men who feed off power and denial. Her rage, once muted, sharpens into clarity.

To break free, she must risk not only Tom’s grip but also the intoxicating pull of the cycles she has never dared escape. Will taking control lead Pearl to freedom, or is leaving her only way out?

Director bio:

Marissa Faith Benson is a filmmaker and graduating Master of Film and Television (Filmmaking) student at the Victorian College of the Arts. After several years working video split in Australian film and television projects, she realised her true calling was not beside the monitor but behind it – shaping the breath, rhythm and life of what unfolds between the frames. Her work is driven by a deep commitment to feminist art that is both accessible and resonant, aiming to create films that move beyond abstraction and speak directly to people’s lived experiences. Believing that cinema is most powerful when it is felt, Marissa seeks to spark dialogue and connection across generations in her work, using film as both an artistic and educational force.
