21-year-old Ryan loves playing football. Ryan is profoundly Deaf, yet plays for an all hearing team, the Montrose Football Club. When he was a kid, Ryan was introduced to football but experienced barriers. He had to play without the use of an interpreter. Or his teammates learning sign language. Yet Ryan continued to adapt and maintain his position as a ruckman.

Driven by his love for the game. Ryan now plays as starting ruckman in the reserves team but strives to break into the senior side. He has a long way to go, and being Deaf still presents regular challenges. but Ryan is as dedicated as ever to be the best player he can be.
