A lonely young girl, whose parents are always working away from home, finds herself yearning for a best friend to call her own. Her wish comes true when a friendly, adorable stray cat appears in the bushes at the edge of her backyard and they strike up an instant connection.

Director bio:
Elizabeth “Poppy” Eather is a Chinese-Australian artist based in Naarm/Melbourne who is studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Animation) at VCA. She specialises in both animation and creative writing, with particular interest in 2D puppet rigs and animation, 3D rigging, storyboarding, screenwriting, and prose fiction. She is especially drawn to character-driven narratives, and enjoys exploring the complexities of connection and human relationships in her work. Her animations typically utilise fun, friendly character designs – most often cats! – to delve into her own lived experiences as a queer, disabled and neurodivergent creator.Bachelor of Fine Arts (Animation)
