Home Is Where The Art Is

13m Short, Documentary 2024

A poetic and insightful documentary essay of Arts Access Victoria’s SRS Studios. Where artists have been creating works for over 30 years.

AAV runs inclusive and dynamic arts workshops for artists to make, experience and present art. Artists explore their practice with the guidance of professional practising artists. AAV Studios encourage independence in artistic decision-making. Artists have the choice in how they make art. How they wish to develop as an artist.

In 1992, AAV began a three-year partnership with St Kilda Council. To develop a multi-arts studio for people living in Supported Residential Services. The program was an incredible success! Continuing to grow and expand across Victoria over the next 32 years.

Currently the SRS Studios Program runs weekly in-house, arts-based workshops. In partnership with seven Supported Residential Services. Across the North and West regions of Melbourne and engaging around 70 artists each year. These are some of those artists.

Audio Description is included as part of the soundscape.
