Where the World is Quiet

11m Short, Documentary 2025

Audiences know former Australian of the Year Grace Tame as an advocate for survivors of child sex abuse. And a fierce critic of those who misuse power. Where the World is Quiet reveals a more personal side of Grace. Shaped by autism, auditory processing disorder, and a lifelong need to outrun the noise.

Through an immersive soundscape reflecting sensory overwhelm and autism shutdown. This film looks at how long-distance running became Grace’s refuge. She traces her passion back to childhood. Through trauma, and into the present. Offering an exploration of autistic strengths. In a world not built for neurodivergent people.

Vulnerable, defiant, and full of Grace’s signature wit. Where the World is Quiet challenges audiences to confront unconscious ableism and rethink what it means to listen.
